While I'm on the topic of Crack

OK, this fella is just a wild lookin' thing. You can't help but like him. He cracked me up and I wanted to share my find with the world. You should hear my son say that "What's crackin'" and of course, his what's crackin' comes from good ole Dave Chapelle. Now that boy is a piece a work :-)

Alternative Medicine

A friend of mine is quite sure that there's something to be said for algae extract and the things he mentions makes alot of sense to me. This is something I want to do some research on and I'm with him, in that, the government doesn't want to recognize alternative medicines as being safe and something which works.

Some things I've been trying lately is that I put 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon into my coffee each morning because I read somewhere that cinnamon helps to increase your metabolism. We'll see if it makes any difference. I might just be experiencing coffee jitters lol. Also, I've been putting in 1/4 tblspn of good ole fashioned cocoa into my coffee grounds too. The coffee still tastes good and apparently the antioxidants in the cocoa are beneficial to you. Now, the 8 glasses of water I've been drinking, sometimes it tastes like the nasty gas smell which my water has and sometimes not. I'm thinking that I should not have put my britta in the dishwasher the other day (shrunk it maybe??). I'll taste test the water again today to see if it still has that funky taste or if my water is being filtered properly by my britta. Love my britta.

According to my friend, he claims that this Algae Extract is supposed to be a cure for many viruses (aka: herpes, common cold), certain cancers, supposedly is good for MS patients and those who suffer from sinusitis. I'll try to come back and update this.

I definitely believe in the cholesterol fighting properties of oatmeal though. And now I'm thinking about apple cider vinegar and to mix it with my water. Just have to watch what it does to my teeth and I read something yesterday about something in vinegar called "mother". I wonder if that's something like mold which is what they supposedly make pencillin out of? Who knows, you hear so many old wives tales, some of which are true and heck, I'd love to believe that there are some natural things out here which do aid in curing folks of certain illnesses. Why not is what I say. I always think about "what did they used to do in the old days?" That's what I ask myself. Of course, folks always come back to me and say, ah but their life span was alot shorter too way back then. Oh well, there will always be critics.

Bed Time

EWWWWWWWW - Timewise 3 in 1 (this was written by a Mary Kay lady - yuck!!! lolol) Some of you don't know what I personally just went through, but it wasn't pretty......I was sucked into this letter till I got to the cleanser part......ewwwwwwwww.......ewwwwwwwwwww.......ewwwwwwwwww lolol

Thanks for turning a wonderful story into a sales pitch kaybots (aka: Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants) I have been reading so much garbage that this cult sends out and it says Mary Kay ALL OVER IT. Even down to the type of print....Man, talk about brainwashing!! Also be sure to check out the font which Mary Kay consultants LOVE to use!! yuck, yuck, yuck.

It's unfortunate how they turn a good memory into such a yucky sales pitch. Does this NOT hurt your eyes? My childhood was exactly the same up to the part where Mom put 3 in 1 cleanser on! NOT. Heck, my mom wouldn't have had the bucks to spend foolishly on cleanser, especially the stuff sold by Mary Kay stepford wives.

WHY I LOVE MOM *
Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed"

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.
Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.
She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button
She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.
She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."

"I'm on my way," she said.

She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.
In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed."

And he did...without another thought.

Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?

CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

Send this to five phenomenal women today...they'll love you for it! I just did.

THEN, GO TO BED!

Chippewa Street in Buffalo

Here is a great description about Chippewa Street in Buffalo, something which many years ago used to be called the red light district or rather it was simply someplace which if you were a "good girl" you weren't supposed to go there.

It's basically the downtown area of Buffalo; the
"Chippewa Strip" as it's casually known to locals, is
essentially a 4 block stretch of literally
wall-to-wall bars and clubs, beginning at Pearl St. and
ending at Delaware Ave. On a weekend nite it feels
like a little chunk of NYC was plopped down into
Buffalo; bustling sidewalks and craziness...lots of
eye-candy too. Downside is dodging obnoxious drunks,
but, hey, sometimes that's kinda fun. I can't recall
which exit to take off the 190, but it is easy to
find from the main Avenues of Buffalo: Elmwood,
Delaware and Main St. all run smack into it.

Thanks to my friend Martin for his eloquent description of this famed area.

Will I EVER get DSL?

Gosh, I would love to have DSL or broadband service at my house. It's really a bummer because I could be working more than one job, expanding my horizons. There are more and more companies who offer telecommuting to it's employee's and I would like that opportunity as well.

I've proven to myself and my current employer that I do make for an excellent telecommuter. Productive and never late for work. So I look forward to the day when I can finally have DSL access hooked up. If I'm not mistaken, it wouldn't take much for Verizon to "send us the message" and as far as zitomedia (who used to be Adelphia Communications) or maybe it's Time Warner who will be taking over the lines. Whoever it is, I am so frustrated by the fact that the old Adelphia cable which is now zitomedia is within 1 mile from my house and because of the change of hands and reorganizing of the old adelphia, the extension to my home and beyond has not happened. Maybe it's time for me to take a petition around Annin Township and send it to both Zitomedia and Verizon. Hmmm, sounds like a good project. :-)
While I'm at it, I might as well get Verizon going on putting in another cell phone tower too. Heck, kill two birds with one stone. As long as our ex supervisor doesn't convince me to get involved with our local politics. LOL But of course, they tell me all I have to do is "turn my back" to the crowd lol OK, anyway, I look forward to the day when I can finally get a DSL hook up here in Northwestern Pennsylvania, rural areas.

I love the word chuckle

Does the word chuckle just make you smile when you're reading something which another human being has written. I just love that word chuckle. You can actually see the person writing it have a smile come across their face while they are reading something or usually writing something. What does a chuckle mean? Does it mean they're thinking of something evil and sinister? In a good way of course lol Well anyway, it was just something I thought about and wanted to blog about. Chuckle, what a great word!! *smile* and a thank you to my friend Karen who got me hooked on using that word. This qualifies as dribble for sure lolol

Still flyin with the flylady

I'm still flyin!! No silly, not on drugs, not on alcohol, but on my clean sink lol I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE the flylady.net I have it saved as one of my favorites in my internet explorer. My sink has NEVER been cleaner, dish free since early January of this year. It has been amazing. I even got my 13 year old son helping me to keep it clean. I guess he must be appreciating a clean sink because I don't even have to fight with him about keeping his dishes cleaned and in the dishwasher, ready to be washed. Or maybe I'm just becoming a better mom. I'll call that "my momness" *smile*

I even started writing little notes to him, so when he gets home from school, he can do little tasks which need to be taken care of around the house. Such as, Oh my goodness, it was so wonderful walking up the steps this morning to see lintfree steps. Can you say "woo-hoo" *smile* Anyway, I highly recommend Fly Lady. I'm sure I've written about her in an earlier post, but this is my progression blog, so I just need to express my excitement. *smile again and laugh out loud too*

Too cool huh.
